Product Instruction
Our box-type resistance furnace is an electric heating unit built for thermal treatment of metal components, ceramic pieces, powder samples and refractory raw materials. Its horizontal box-style chamber offers usable working space for batch runs, ideal for jobs demanding steady temperature output and repeatable heating cycles.
Working Principle
Place workpieces onto the internal tray, shut the box-type resistance furnace door and launch the heating procedure. Resistance heating elements mounted inside the chamber turn electric power into thermal energy. Heat passes to loaded parts mainly via thermal radiation together with air convection inside the cavity.
Built-in thermocouples track real-time chamber temperature and feed reading signals back to the controller. The PID unit modulates heating output following your set temperature profile. At the heat-holding phase, the system keeps chamber temperature within narrow tolerance bands to secure consistent treatment results.
Main Components
The furnace shell of the box-type resistance furnace is sealed and welded from angle steel and steel plates. Inside the shell is a furnace chamber constructed from a mixture of various refractory materials. The gap between the outer shell and the furnace chamber is filled with vermiculite powder for insulation. The heating element is a spiral coil made of high-resistance alloy wire, which is placed on the brick supports on both sides of the furnace chamber and the bottom of the furnace (for 1200℃ electric furnaces, resistance wires are also arranged on the rear wall and furnace door, depending on the size). The workpiece to be heated is placed on the furnace bottom plate inside the furnace chamber. The bottom plate is chromium-manganese-nitrogen for 950℃ electric furnaces and silicon carbide for 1200℃ electric furnaces. The furnace door is raised and lowered by a hand-cranked chain wheel. A counterweight on the left side of the furnace door balances the weight of the door. A sealing groove is provided at the furnace door, filled with graphite asbestos packing. The door is sealed by a manually tightened pressure screw. A three-headed drip meter and flow meter for methanol dripping are installed on the furnace top. A limit switch is installed on the upper part of the furnace door, which is interlocked with the opening and closing of the furnace door. When the furnace door is opened, the power supply to the electric furnace is cut off to ensure the safety of the operators. Two thermocouples are installed on the furnace top, one to control the working temperature of the furnace chamber and the other for over-temperature protection.
