Medium Frequency Induction Furnace

Medium Frequency Induction Furnace

A medium frequency induction furnace melts metal by electromagnetic induction. We build these furnaces for foundries and metalworking shops that need to melt steel, iron, copper, aluminum, and most common alloys. Compared with fuel-fired furnaces, the heat is generated inside the charge itself, so melting is faster and the temperature is easier to hold steady.

Product Instruction

A medium frequency induction furnace melts metal by electromagnetic induction. We build these furnaces for foundries and metalworking shops that need to melt steel, iron, copper, aluminum, and most common alloys. Compared with fuel-fired furnaces, the heat is generated inside the charge itself, so melting is faster and the temperature is easier to hold steady.

We manufacture the furnace to your requirements. Capacity, power, frequency, cooling setup, tilting method, and controls are all configurable. You can order the melting unit on its own, or we can integrate it into a full melting and casting line.

Each Medium Frequency Induction Furnace is built around an induction coil, a furnace body, a medium frequency power supply, a capacitor bank, a cooling system, a tilting mechanism, and a control cabinet. The system is put together for steady daily production and low downtime.

Working Principle

The power supply takes mains-frequency electricity and converts it into medium frequency AC, which feeds the induction coil. As current runs through the coil, it creates a changing magnetic field around the crucible.

The metal charge sitting inside the crucible cuts through that field and eddy currents form in the metal. The metal's own resistance turns those currents into heat, so the charge heats up quickly and melts. The field also stirs the bath as it melts, which helps even out the temperature and the chemistry.

Induction Furnace

Features

  • Melts most ferrous and non-ferrous metals quickly
  • Heat is generated in the metal itself, so less energy is wasted
  • Temperature is easy to control and hold
  • Magnetic stirring keeps the melt uniform
  • Clean melting, low contamination from fuel or combustion gases
  • Works well for different metals and alloys on the same furnace
  • Charging, skimming, and pouring are straightforward
  • Compact footprint for the capacity it delivers
  • Suited to batch melting in foundry production
  • Capacity and configuration built to your spec

Applications

These Medium Frequency Induction Furnaces are used in steel and iron foundries, non-ferrous metal shops, machinery plants, automotive parts suppliers, and metal recycling operations. They handle cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, and similar alloys.

They fit small-batch jobs, continuous foundry runs, and custom melting processes where you need fast heating, reliable temperature control, and the flexibility to switch between materials.
