Product Introduction
The Gas Nitriding Furnace is a sealed heat treatment unit for surface nitriding of precision metal components. It uses ammonia-based nitriding gas as the process atmosphere to form a uniform hard nitride layer on workpiece surfaces, improving the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and fatigue strength of steel parts.
Different from conventional open heating furnaces, the equipment adopts a fully sealed inner cavity to stabilize internal gas concentration and temperature during operation. It is suitable for nitriding mold steel and alloy steel components, supporting both small-batch trial runs and large-scale production.
Working Principle
Workpieces are placed inside the furnace chamber, and the furnace is fully sealed before operation. The chamber is heated steadily to the target nitriding temperature. After the Gas Nitriding Furnace reaches the required temperature, ammonia-based gas is introduced into the chamber. The gas flow and nitriding conditions are adjusted according to the selected process parameters.
Nitrogen diffuses into the surface of the workpiece during the treatment and forms the required nitrided layer. The system regulates temperature, gas flow and holding time throughout the process. Once diffusion and infiltration are finished, the furnace enters the programmed cooling stage to complete the full nitriding cycle.
Main Components
The gas nitriding furnace consists of a furnace body (composite furnace lining), electric heating components, a high-temperature centrifugal fan, a hot air guide tube, a furnace base, a furnace cover, a furnace cover lifting mechanism, a rapid cooling system, a furnace gas detection system (hydrogen analyzer), a waste gas combustion system, a water cooling system, and a furnace temperature/nitrogen potential (microcomputer) control system.
