Equipment Overview
This pit type resistance furnace is a vertical batch electric heating device for industrial metal heat treatment. It adopts an underground pit structure, differing from regular horizontal box furnaces. Vertical installation is suitable for elongated workpieces that cannot be placed flat during processing. The whole machine adopts welded steel structure, full-fiber insulation and circumferential heating arrangement. It works for daily workshop production and regular batch heat treatment.
Structural Configuration
The pit type resistance furnace consists of a furnace body vacuum pump, control cabinet, and cooling fan. Microcomputer control enables programmed heating and cooling, and the furnace is also equipped with an over-temperature alarm protection device (the complete set does not include the material rack, material tray, etc.).
Operation Workflow
Operators fix workpieces on special hanging fixtures. Factory cranes or electric hoists lift workpieces and place them vertically into the furnace cavity. After workpiece placement, the furnace cover is closed and locked. Workers select or set process curves according to workpiece material and processing requirements. The furnace completes segmented heating, temperature holding and cooling automatically. After the whole process finishes, workpieces are lifted out for subsequent processing.
Processing Objects
The pit type resistance furnace is designed for long and strip metal workpieces unsuitable for horizontal processing. Common workpieces include long transmission shafts, tension rods, mining drill rods, pipe fittings, mechanical rings and quenched steel structural parts. It applies to conventional production in machinery processing, auto parts manufacturing, petroleum equipment and metallurgical workshops.
Processing Capabilities
The pit type resistance furnace supports multiple standard heat treatment processes, including annealing, normalizing, tempering, stress relief and artificial aging. Vertical placement reduces bending and surface pressure on long workpieces. Circumferential heating balances temperature inside the furnace cavity. This processing mode adjusts metal internal structure, removes residual stress generated in machining and quenching, and stabilizes mechanical properties of processed workpieces in each batch.
Applications
Pit type resistance furnaces are mainly used for bright annealing, normalizing, quenching, and tempering of various steels, copper, and their alloys. By dripping organic liquid, they can perform carburizing, carbonitriding, soft nitriding, decarburization followed by recarburizing, and bluing treatments. They are particularly suitable for intermediate annealing of wires, strips, and profiles. This furnace incorporates advanced technology from imported equipment, and its performance has reached the specifications of similar imported products.
