Product Introduction
The Pit Type Tempering Furnace is a vertical batch heat treatment furnace designed for tempering and stress relief of quenched steel components. Its pit structure is suitable for long shafts, rods, tubes and other elongated workpieces that are difficult to arrange in a conventional box furnace.
After quenching, steel parts may contain residual stress and require tempering to obtain a suitable balance of hardness, strength and toughness. The furnace provides controlled heating and holding conditions for this process, helping stabilize the workpiece structure and reduce the risk of distortion during subsequent use.
Furnace diameter, working depth, heating power and loading capacity can be selected according to the workpiece dimensions, weight and required tempering process.
Features
Uniform chamber heating: Heating elements surround the working zone to keep steady temperature across the effective heating area. This layout helps achieve consistent tempering conditions throughout the workpiece load.
Vertical loading: Long shafts, drill rods, tubes and other elongated parts can be loaded vertically, making the furnace suitable for workpieces that are inconvenient to process horizontally.
Programmable temperature control: Heating and holding parameters can be set according to the steel grade, workpiece size and required tempering condition. Different process programs can be stored for repeated production.
Flexible configuration: Furnace diameter, working depth, loading fixtures and heating capacity can be selected according to workpiece dimensions and batch weight. Cooling arrangements can also be matched to the selected process.
Main Components
The furnace shell is welded from angle steel and steel plates. The furnace lining is a composite lining constructed from 0.6mm ultra-lightweight refractory clay bricks, insulating bricks, and aluminosilicate ceramic fibers. Heating elements are spirally wound and placed on the support bricks of the lining. Thermal insulation material is filled between the lining and the furnace shell. A charging basket and a protective basket are installed inside the lining. A ventilation fan on the furnace cover forces airflow circulation, ensuring uniform temperature inside the furnace. The RJ2-25-6 and R2-35-6 type pit type tempering furnaces use a manual lever-type furnace cover lifting mechanism. The RJ2-55-6 and RJ2-75-6 type pit-type tempering furnaces use a worm gear drive lifting shaft type furnace cover lifting mechanism. A limit switch is installed next to the lifting shaft, interlocked with the heating elements. When the lifting shaft rises and the furnace cover opens, the power is cut off to ensure operator safety. If required by the process, imported instruments and a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) PID-controlled furnace control cabinet can be used, which can minimize thermal inertia after the furnace reaches its maximum temperature and achieve a control accuracy within 1%.
